    Arrival at Kolkata

    Arrive at Kolkata International Airport. After immigration & custom formalities meet your representative with a Driver. Transfer to Hotel by Car for check in. Evening at leisure with some visit around the vicinity. Overnight at Hotel.


    Day 2

    Kolkata

    Morning after breakfast explore the City of Joy & visit Kali Mata Temple in Kalighat, Fort William, Victoria Memorial, Marble Palace, Writer`s Building, Nicco Park, Dakshineswar Temple & Indian Museum. Over view of Eden Gardens, Howrah Bridge, Kolkata High Court, Golf Club, Raj Bhavan, General Post Office, Shahid Minar & Rabindra Sadan. Overnight at Hotel.


    Day 3

    Kolkata / Guwahati / Kaziranga

    Buffet breakfast in coffee shop of the Hotel. As per schedule time transfer to Kolkata Airport to board a Flight for Guwahati. Arrive Guwahati & meet your Driver, directly proceed to Kaziranga (245 kms) by Car. Arrive & check in to the Resort. Evening leisure at Tiger National Park. Overnight stay.

    ABOUT ASSAM:

    With five National Parks, two of which are designated World Natural Heritage sites by UNESCO, and several wildlife and bird sanctuaries, Assam is a blessed land for wildlife enthusiasts. At the heart of its mind boggling biodiversity is the rich topography of Assam with it’s lush hills and valleys dissected by the majestic Brahmaputra and it’s many tributaries. Assam is home to over 180 species of mammals, including rare and endangered species like the Great Indian one-horned Rhinoceros, the Royal Bengal Tiger, the golden langur and hoolock gibbon and a spectacular range of avifauna. Assam’s most famous parks are Kaziranga and Manas. Both were conferred World Heritage Status in 1985. Kaziranga National Park is spread over 858 sq. kms and is located in the floodplains on both sides of the Brahmaputra. Patches of mixed deciduous forests are interspersed with vast stretches of savannah grasslands, wetlands and chars of river islands formed by the shifting course of the Brahmaputra. The park is divided into five ranges – Central (entry point at Kohora), Western (entry point at Bagori), Eastern (at Agratoli), Western-most Burha Pahar (at Ghorakati) and Northern. The first four lie on the southern side of the river while the last is on the northern bank.


    Day 4

    Kaziranga

    Breakfast in Hotel. Morning Elephant Ride in the Park for approximately 1 hr (timing 5:30 AM to 6:30/7 AM). Explore the National Park along with its wildlife. Afternoon Jeep Safari in the Park for approx 2 hrs (timing 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM). Now you have enough time to explore the Kaziranga. Overnight at Hotel.

    About Kaziranga:

    Originally established as a reserve forest in 1908, Kaziranga was declared a sanctuary in 1916 to counter extensive poaching of the Rhinoceros. In 1974, the Indian Government demarcated the present area as a National Park. Then, in 2007, it was declared a Tiger Reserve under the Central Government’s Project Tiger scheme. The Park is the abode to more than 70% of One Horned Rhinoceros in the World. Highest density of tigers’ prey including the large prey biomass of tiger found in the country. Harbours more than 60% of India’s wild buffalo population along with the only population of the Eastern Swamp deer and seven species of turtles and tortoises. The other important wildlife found are – Leopard, Fishing Cat, other Lesser cats, Large Indian Civet, Small Indian Civet, Sambar, Barking deer, Hog deer, Gaur, Hog Badger, Hoolock Gibbon, Capped Langur, Assamese Macaque, Rhesus Macaque, Sloth Bear, Gangetic Dolphin and Otter etc. The park also has a sizeable population of birds. Home to 25 Globally Threatened and 21 Near Threatened species of birds. Huge flocks of pelicans and rose-ringed parakeets can be spotted here besides crested serpent eagles, grey-headed fishing eagles, red jungle fowl, Bengal floricans, bar-headed geese and whistling teals. More than 150 perennial water bodies are located inside the Park, where water level fluctuates temporally resulting in the generation of a very rich aquatic floral diversity. More than 32 species of flora have so far been identified. More than 60 species of fishes have been recorded and is the breeding ground of many of the local species.


    Day 5

    Kaziranga / Shillong

    Breakfast in Hotel, proceed to Shillong (275 kms) by Car. Arrive at Shillong & check in to the Hotel. Explore Lady Hydari Park. Overnight at Hotel. The Capital city of the State as well as the District headquarters of East Khasi Hills District. Shillong is the only hill station in the Country that is accessible from all sides. The name Shillong is derived from U-Shyllong, a powerful deity and is situated at an altitude of 1,491m above sea level.


    Day 6

    Shillong

    After breakfast in Hotel, visit Elephant Falls, Shillong Peak and Mawsynram (wettest place on earth). Later move to Cherrapunji (55 kms – 1.5 hrs). Cherrapunjee (4869Ft/1484M), Cherrapunjee possesses some exotic waterfalls and impressive limestone Caves, Mawkdok viewpoint, Nohkalikai Falls, 7 Sister Falls, Thangkharang Park and Mawsmai Cave, which is one of the 100 odd limestone caves in Meghalaya. Back to Shillong & Overnight at Hotel.
